ABOUT
Kids Caring For Country
Kids Caring For Country is a whole-of-family cultural reclamation and capacity building program that has delivered free, weekly cultural programs to the Murwillumbah and Tweed Aboriginal community for the past 16 years.
Kids Caring For Country empowers Aboriginal parents as teachers and provides child-focused spaces for cultural learning, community parenting and strengthening connection.
With a focus on dance and language- weekly sessions are delivered on country between Murwillumbah and the Tweed Coast.
Activities are delivered by male and female Aboriginal cultural facilitators to suit a range of children’s developmental ages and stages including:
Traditional Dance, Songs, Games and Language
Sharing Circle and Storytelling
Art and Crafts
Family Bonding and Strengthening
Nutritious afternoon tea and bush food dinner is provided
Access to a qualified Aboriginal Family Support Worker at each session for families experiencing crisis, or needed advocacy, advice, referral or counseling.
There is no cost for this program and bus transport can be arranged.
Parents must attend with children.

This program commences in week 3 of each term.
